Who’s Who at the Library

A Message from your Library Director:

         My name is Laura Naugle. I am so happy to be Hillsboro Area Public Library District’s newest Library Director.

I live in rural Carlinville with my husband, Kevin of 37 years. We have 2 grown children, and a granddaughter.

I have been a librarian for 13 years. However, I have been working in libraries most of my life since high school.

I have a passion for books and sharing them with others. It has always been my dream to be a librarian. I am looking forward to learning more about the Hillsboro Community and sharing my love of the library with you all.

As a librarian, my goal is to help the community learn skills of technology, genealogy, use of eBooks, and to enjoy our library family with great new books, daily news from our Hillsboro Journal News, & Current Periodicals.

I am here to visit, or to listen as you share the great books that you like to read. Stop in anytime to see me.

Meet Our Library Staff

Sue VanOstran: Hired in as a Substitute Librarian in 2016, then joined permanently in 2018 as a Library Clerk.

Nancy Merriman: A Library Clerk since September 2018.

Michelle Balla: Our evening and weekend clerk since October 2022.

Deb Howard: Library Clerk joined us in April 2024

Susan Marten: Sub Library Clerk joined us in May 2024

Melissa Trader: Sub Library Clerk joined us in May 2024
